3. How a wrong code creates a bigger problem
A company classifies a product under code A, which carries no regulatory conditions.
The correct code is B, which requires an export licence.
No licence was applied for. The shipment becomes an unlicensed export.
That is not a tax issue. It can be treated as a false declaration, or worse.
4. Inspection and quarantine
Codes determine whether goods fall within the statutory inspection catalogue.
Classify wrongly and you either miss a required inspection or arrange one that was never needed.
