How to Apply for an Apostille in China
There are only two routes in China: civil documents must first be notarized by a notary public office, commercial documents must first be certified by the CCPIT. Only then can the Foreign Affairs Office issue the Apostille.
Key Points
- Civil: notarization then Apostille
- Commercial: CCPIT certificate then Apostille
- 31 issuing authorities nationwide
- Jurisdiction follows the notary office, not your residence
- Usually 5 to 10 working days
